The UAE’s plans for tourism over the next decade will be difficult to sustain if the world falls into recession, according to scenarios outlined by a top industry analyst yesterday. During a hotels conference in Dubai, Rohit Talwar, the chief executive of Fast Future, a UK-based tourism consultancy, outlined four scenarios that could shape the future of the tourism industry. He warned businesses to be flexible enough to adapt to changes in the global economy, which are increasingly important to the fate of the Gulf’s tourism ambitions. Failure to do so could have a disastrous impact on the sector, he said.
