According to Bali Rasa Sayang, a grouping of tourism organisations that specialises in the Japanese market, Japan is Bali’s top market. Between January and April this year, Indonesia received 163,018 Japanese visitors, a nearly 13 per cent gain from the 144,330 arrivals reported for the same period last year. The majority of visitors, an estimated 352,000 last year, travelled to Bali, which expects arrivals this year to rise to 386,484. Last year, Japan contributed nearly 594,000 arrivals and Indonesia is banking on a nearly 13 per cent rise to 670,000 visitors this year.
