Professor Dr. Brian Wheeller

As per January 2011, the new professorship of Tourism Destination Management started functioning at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. Integrated by Associate Professor dr. Brian Wheeller and 5 staff members, mostly participating in the TDM master course, the professorship aspires to address research and advisory in the broad field of tourism destination management.

At this moment TDM professorship is designing a stakeholder approach to SME engagement in tourism planning in three muncipalities in Zeeland, the Netherlands. At the same time, its members are engaged in research on tourism destination marketing and image, curriculum design for vocational training and entrepreneurship for the tourism sector in developing countries like Vietnam and Laos. Similarly, the professorship is analyzing the options for cooperation with Bejijng International Students University, for analysis of Sino-EU tourism destination developments.
